ZNA formed in Lisbon in 1993, with Henrique Martins on vocals and guitar. Their sound mixed Portuguese rhythms with hip-hop and rock, and they became known for songs like "Dos Vacilão." The band's debut album was called "Lado B."
They faced some criticism for their style and lyrics, but kept working. Later albums included "Outro Lado" and "10 Anos." The lineup at one point included Pedro Almendra on bass, Luís Sampaio on drums, and André Alegria on keyboards.
Their music connected with listeners in Portugal, blending different styles without sticking to one formula. They didn't follow trends, which gave their work its own character.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
