Zoar Dias formed in Paris in 2010, built around singer-songwriter Zoar and multi-instrumentalist Maxime Dias. They released their debut album 'La Vie en Rose' in 2016, but it was the single 'Ton Amour' that really connected with listeners. The song's direct emotional pull made it a breakout hit.
Since then, they've put out three more albums: 'Douce Violence' in 2018, 'La Quête' in 2020, and 'L'Empreinte' in 2023. Another track, 'Tu Habites En Moi,' also found an audience. Their sound has incorporated some electronic touches while keeping that melodic focus.
They've worked with a few other French artists like Louane and Gringe, but the core remains the two founding members. The music tends to draw both strong appreciation and some criticism for its sentimental quality, which they've generally kept making on their own terms.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
