ZOC Rap came out of São Paulo's underground scene with lyrics that confronted social issues head-on. Their 2016 debut album Vida Escassa, named after its title track, brought them wider attention in Brazil. The song 'Vida Escassa' itself became something of an anthem for movements addressing inequality.
MC Marechal handles the vocals while DJ Babão and DJ RM provide the beats. They followed Vida Escassa with Audácia in 2018 and Armagedom in 2020, records that kept pushing at political and personal themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
