Zoca e Zuca is a Brazilian duo formed in the early 2000s by Zozimar dos Santos (Zoca) and Zuzana de Carvalho (Zuca). They met in Salvador, Bahia, where local rhythms like samba and axé informed their approach. Zoca handles lead vocals and guitar, while Zuca plays percussion including drums and berimbau.
Their debut album came out in 2003, simply titled "Zoca e Zuca." It included tracks like "Pés no Chão" and "Desejo." They followed with albums in 2005, 2007, and 2010, with "Sonho Infinito" becoming their best-known song.
They've worked with other Brazilian artists such as Gilberto Gil, Carlinhos Brown, and Margareth Menezes. Their music blends folk melodies with contemporary beats, though the duo has occasionally faced rumors about internal tensions.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
