Zohra formed in 2014 with Amira Khadir on vocals, Yasmin El-Haddad on guitar, Layla Kamal on bass, and Nasser Malik on drums. Their song 'Look Up' became a notable track for them.
Their music has touched on themes of identity and social justice, which led to some radio stations banning their song 'Rise Up' in 2016. They released a debut album in 2015, an EP in 2017, and another album in 2021.
