Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei formed in 2004 as a Japanese rock band led by vocalist Kaoru. They put out their first album 'Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei' in 2007, followed by others like 'Yume no Sekai' and 'Kuusou Rumba' over the next few years. The group included guitarist Yuki, bassist Hiro, and drummer Ogi.
Their song 'Kuusou Rumba' became particularly well-known, along with tracks like 'Omamori' and 'Koiji Romanesque.' Their music mixed rock with pop and electronic elements, and their live shows had a theatrical quality that drew attention.
Some of their lyrics and performances sparked discussion, but they developed a dedicated following regardless. They kept releasing material through 2012 with albums like 'Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei' and 'Mezame yo, Zetsubou Shoujo.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
