Zombie Jonhson formed in 2015 with Jonhson on vocals and guitar, Max on bass, and Jake on drums. They put out a debut album called 'Polaroid' in 2017, which leaned into alternative rock and grunge. The title track 'Polaroid' got some attention for its moody, memory-focused lyrics.
In 2019, there was some noise about plagiarism around another song called 'Shadow,' but the band kept playing shows. Max left in 2021 and Emily joined on bass. Their sound has shifted a bit since the early days, picking up some post-punk and electronic touches while keeping that emotional, slightly haunted feel.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
