Zona Autônoma formed in São Paulo in 2003 as a collective of musicians, activists, and poets. The group included Dino Soldá on vocals and guitar, Marcos Moraes on bass, Marcello Saraiva on drums, and André Dotti on guitar and production. Their sound pulled from punk, hip-hop, and samba, with lyrics that often addressed social justice and Brazilian society.
They released several albums, starting with their self-titled debut in 2005, followed by 'Revolução Urbana' in 2008, 'Em Algum Lugar do Passado' in 2010, and 'Fogo na Babilônia' in 2012. Their song 'Em Algum Lugar do Passado' became particularly well-known in Brazil. They kept making music through those reactions, staying focused on their themes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
