Zona Da Atitude formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2004, with Wallace Vianna on vocals, Fred Camacho on guitar, Bruno Brandão on bass, and Rafael Moreira on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out the following year. The track 'Patricinha Diferente' from that record became a notable hit, often described as an anthem about non-conformity.
Their music pulls from funk carioca, rap, and hip-hop. Later albums like 'Só Pra Quem É Favela' (2007) and 'Funk Brasil' (2009) followed, and they've worked with artists including Buchecha and Racionais MC's. Songs like 'Falso' and 'Vida Sem Conduta' appear in their catalog.
At times their lyrics have drawn criticism for explicit content, with one 2009 song facing particular scrutiny over its language. They've generally stood by their artistic choices, saying they reflect certain realities in Rio's communities.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
