Zona da Stronda formed in Brazil with members MC Japão, Leo Stronda, MC Muleque, and Negra Li. Their name translates to "Slum Zone," which nods to their roots. In 2017, they released the single "Night Boa," which caught on with its mix of funk, soul, and rap.
They've worked with other Brazilian artists like Anitta, Ludmilla, and Xand Avião. Some of their songs, including "Vai Malandra" and "Maravilhosa," have drawn criticism for explicit or provocative lyrics, which the band has defended as reflecting their community's realities.
Their albums include Bem Bolado (2018), Maravilhosa (2019), and Vai Malandra (2019).
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
