Zonah formed in Guadalajara during the 1970s, bringing together musicians with backgrounds in rock, blues, and Latin rhythms. Their 1983 album '24 Horas de Vida' included the song that would become their most recognized track, '24 horas de vida (Hijo Pródigo y Legendario).' Another song, 'Alma Y Calma,' also appears among their notable work.
In 1989, lead vocalist José Madero died in a car accident. The band continued with drummer Fito de la Parra taking on vocal duties. They released 'La Leyenda Continúa' in 1993 after a break from recording.
The band's music draws from rock and pop while incorporating traditional Mexican elements, with influences ranging from The Beatles to Santana.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
