Zorana formed in 2003 in Aleksinac, Serbia, with Zorana Mićanović on lead vocals and songwriting, Predrag Jovanović on guitar, Aleksandar Rakić on bass, and Dragan Trifunović on drums. Their early years were marked by financial struggles, but they kept working.
Their song 'Crno-bela ruza' from their 2005 debut album became their most recognizable track, though it sparked some debate about its themes. The band maintained it was about love and forgiveness. Other songs like 'Dala sam ti snagu' and 'Hocu da umrem dok me volis' followed a similar emotional vein.
They released several albums through 2012, including 'Samo ti' in 2006 and 'Ljubav mi je sve' in 2012. Their music blended traditional Balkan elements with pop arrangements, creating a sound that connected with listeners across the region.
