Zornik formed in Budapest in 2005 with Marci Mezei on production and vocals, Ági Mórocz on keyboards and vocals, and Tamás Kiss on drums. Their early sound drew from trip-hop atmospheres and house rhythms, which came together on their 2007 debut album 'Beyond the Stars.'
Their 2010 single 'It's So Unreal' became a breakout track, pulling them toward a wider audience.
Later albums like 'Replicas of the Sun' in 2013 and 'Distant Landscapes' in 2016 leaned into more experimental textures, incorporating ambient and techno elements while keeping their vocal melodies central. They've run their own Zornik Records label and have been active in Hungary's electronic music circles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
