Zoup is a Brazilian group led by vocalist Roberta Sá, with Rodrigo Tavares on guitar, André Siqueira on bass, and Claudio Melo on drums. They put out their first album in 2010. Their song 'Na Pista da Paixão' came out the next year and got popular.
Their music pulls from samba, soul, and funk. Roberta Sá's singing has been compared to Brazilian voices like Elis Regina. They've worked with other artists from Brazil, including Gilberto Gil and Seu Jorge. Other songs like 'Pra Valer' and 'Sentimentos' show their range.
They kept making albums through the 2010s, with 'Viver' in 2013 and 'Em Todo Lugar' in 2015. Their sound didn't fit neatly into one category early on, which drew some criticism, but they built a following playing live.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
