Zuila Silva is a Brazilian vocalist from Alagoas whose 2004 album 'O Crucificado' brought her wider attention. The title track, a version of a classic hymn, became her most recognized recording.
Her music draws from traditional forró and religious hymns, and she has released several albums including 'Deus e Eu' in 2007, 'Fonte de Vida' in 2011, 'Milagres' in 2015, and 'Amor Eterno' in 2019. She performs with a band that includes guitarist Wesley Silva, bassist Anderson Silva, drummer Rodrigo Silva, and keyboardist Gabriela Silva.
Some listeners questioned the sincerity of her religious themes, but she continued performing music focused on faith. Her recordings have found an audience among those drawn to Brazilian devotional music.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
