Zouk formed in French Guiana in 1981 with members including Dédé Saint-Prix, Guy Nsangue, Jocelyne Béroard, and Georges Plonquitte. Their early work blended Caribbean, Latin, and African influences, and they released their debut album 'Utile' in 1982.
Their 1984 album 'Cho Ka Ka La' included the single 'Lambada,' which became a global hit.
Later albums like 'C'est la Vie' (1985), 'Voyages' (1987), and 'Tropicaux' (1993) continued their style. Other songs in their catalog include 'Desafogo' and 'Meus Sentimentos e Um Mic Ruim.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
