Zull formed in Berlin in 1989 with Eva-Maria Stuewe on vocals, Stefan Platow on guitar, Andreas Baumecker on bass, and Stefan Will on drums. They worked in an experimental style that didn't fit neatly into mainstream categories.
In 1992 they released an album called "Prica," which gave them their most recognizable track. The song "Prica" became something of a calling card for their approach, built around Stuewe's vocal range and Platow's unorthodox guitar work.
They kept recording through the 1990s, putting out albums like "Graben" in 1994, "Barock" in 1996, "Wurzel" in 1998, and "Rosen" in 2000. Their sound drew a cult audience that appreciated its challenging textures and refusal to follow conventional patterns.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
