The Zusjes Van Tricht were five sisters from Schinveld in the Netherlands who formed a vocal group. They started singing together as children in their family home. In 1962, they had a breakthrough with "Gluck Auf," a miners' anthem that became a chart-topper.
Their repertoire included songs like "Het Was Een Ander," "Mienekes, de orgelman," and "Was ik maar echt verliefd op jou." The sisters were Mia, Ria, Trix, Lenie, and Gerrie. Mia was known for strong vocals, Ria for a gentler tone, and Trix could yodel.
They performed internationally and became well-known figures in Dutch entertainment. Their music drew from folk and pop traditions, built around their family harmonies. The group's activity spanned several decades before the sisters began passing away, with Mia dying in 2019 and Ria in 2021.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
