Zuzá Cérebro formed in the late 1990s with founding members Chico Malta on vocals, Lívia Nestrovski on bass, Thiago "Bozzo" Barata on keyboards, and Vinícius Cantuária on guitar. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 2001, followed by records like "Brasilógico" in 2003 and "Eletrocidadão" in 2007. They've worked with collaborators including Moreno Veloso, Kassin, and Curumin.
Their song "Amor Sincero" came out in 2003 and became particularly well-known. Another track, "Nostalgia," features Erne Flex. In 2005, the band faced plagiarism accusations over their song "Paciência," which were later dismissed. In 2012, they performed at a campaign event for former Brazilian president Dilma Rousseff, drawing some criticism at the time.
