ZVRG formed in Manchester in the early 2010s, with K on vocals and guitar, A on bass and keyboards, and J on drums. Their sound pulls from industrial noise, doom metal, and electronic experimentation, drawing clear lines to Swans, Godflesh, and Nine Inch Nails.
They released a self-titled debut in 2014, followed by the album 'Until God Forgives Me' in 2016. That track became something of an anthem for listeners drawn to their heavy, confrontational style.
ZVRG has worked with drone musician Martin Jenkins and experimental songwriter Chelsea Wolfe. They keep a sparse discography, but their uncompromising approach has earned them a cult following in underground circles.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
