Zwartketterij

Zwartketterij is a Dutch extreme metal band that started in 2007, founded by vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Simon Araya, who uses the stage name Necroslaughter. Their music leans heavily into themes of gore and violence, with song titles like 'Deadly Forces Bleeding Corpse' and 'The Black Fucking Heresy' giving a clear sense of their aesthetic. The band's debut album 'Perverse Necromancy' came out in 2009, followed by 'Death, Bringer of Immortality' in 2012 and 'Purulent, Putrid Semen of Beelzebub' in 2015.

Their sound is built around relentless blast beats, distorted guitars, and Araya's harsh vocals. Tracks such as 'Der Sadomeister' and 'Jack Hellfire Necrotrash' showcase this aggressive approach. The current lineup includes Araya on vocals, guitars, and bass, Daniel de Ruiter on drums, and Marijn de Vos on guitars.

Zwartketterij's graphic lyrics and artwork have drawn criticism and led to performance bans in some countries. They've maintained a cult following in the underground metal scene, where their uncompromising style has influenced other bands. The group continues to operate with the same confrontational energy they started with.
