Zykos

Zykos came up in the early 2000s, a band built around Luke Stevens' vocals and Jake Thompson's saxophone. Their debut album 'Sounds from the Underground' had a track called 'Comedy Horn' that caught on, mostly because of Thompson's solo on it. That song, along with others like 'Kodiak' and 'The Dip,' gave them some early attention.

They put out a few more records after that, including 'Phoenix Rising' in 2005 and 'The Third Eye' a few years later. Stevens had some personal trouble around that time, which led to a break in 2005. The band kept playing shows where 'Comedy Horn' was usually the thing people wanted to hear.

There was some talk about whether 'Comedy Horn' borrowed too much from another song, but it didn't stop them from recording. They made albums into the 2010s, like 'Unleashed' and 'Evolution,' with Thompson's horn work still a central part of their sound. Their setlists often included 'Hilarious Proof' and 'Typhoon of 92' alongside the more familiar material.
