ZZZelda formed in 2000 with Anya P. Peas on vocals and keyboards, Dorian Coyote on guitar and drums, and Markus 'Marquis' Meesh handling bass and programming. Their music pulls from ambient textures, experimental folk, and electronic manipulation, often weaving in field recordings and distorted vocals. The track 'Fig Tree/ Ent Bed' from 2006 layers haunting vocals over intricate guitar work and a hypnotic bassline, creating a sound that feels both unsettling and immersive.
