19 Wheels formed in the late 1990s with Jesse James on vocals and guitar, Emily Cross on bass, and Jake Smith on drums. Their debut album 'Echoes of the Unseen' came out in 2001, followed by 'Are You Happy?' in 2003. The title track from that second album became one of their most recognizable songs.

They put out several more albums through the 2000s, including 'The Weight of the World' in 2006 and 'Chasing Ghosts' in 2009. Their catalog includes songs like 'Broken,' 'Rabies,' and 'Tv Queen' that fans still seek out.

James's lyrics sometimes touched on mental health and addiction, which drew some criticism at the time. The band eventually disbanded, but their recordings remain in circulation.
