Editor's note

A Static Lullaby, the Chino post-hardcore band

They made aggressive, melodic noise in the 2000s before breaking up in 2010.

If you want to get their sound, start with 'Toxic' and 'Trigger Happy Tarantula.' That's the band in a nutshell, loud, a little catchy, and very 2006.

Their self-titled 2006 album had 'Toxic,' a song that finally clicked with listeners after years of grinding. It's a good example of how they balanced heavy guitar riffs with Dan Arnold's vocal melodies. You can hear that same push-and-pull on tracks like 'Trigger Happy Tarantula' and 'Hang 'em High.'

They started in 2001 with the album 'Faso Latido.' By 2006, they were on Epitaph Records and put out songs like 'Toxic' and 'Modern Day Fire.' Legal troubles and the 2009 album 'Wreckage' led to their breakup the next year.

Archive material and source history

A Static Lullaby formed in Chino, California in 2001 with Dan Arnold on vocals, Patrizio Arpino and Phil Pirrone on guitars, Dan Estrin on bass, and Brett Dinovo on drums. Their first album was called 'Faso Latido,' though it didn't get much attention at the time. They kept playing shows and working on new material.

In 2006 they put out their self-titled album, which included the song 'Toxic.' That track seemed to connect with people in a way their earlier work hadn't. Around this period they also recorded songs like 'Looking For Players' and 'Modern Day Fire,' which showed their mix of aggressive guitar work and melodic vocals.

By 2008 they were dealing with legal issues involving their label Epitaph Records. The next year they released 'Wreckage,' but the band was already coming apart. They broke up in 2010, and the members went on to other projects, Arnold started Swell, Arpino joined Circa Survive, and the others pursued different musical work.
