Acolyte

Acolyte formed in London during the mid-1990s around vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Seraphina Winters and guitarist Silas Crowne. Their debut EP from 1998, 'Birth Is The Beginning,' established their sound with its ethereal quality and intricate arrangements. The band's lineup also included bassist Ethan Grey and drummer Samuel Blackwood.

They released several albums over the following decade, including 'The Veil' in 2000, 'Ashes to Ashes' in 2003, and 'The Serpent's Tongue' in 2006. Their final album 'Omega' came out in 2010. Songs like 'False Heaven' and 'Mist Through The Night' reflect the atmospheric, haunting quality that characterized much of their work.

Winters' stage presence and lyrical approach sometimes drew attention beyond the music itself. The band's sound didn't fit neatly into established genres, which created some challenges with commercial expectations. Their music drew from darkwave and gothic rock traditions while maintaining its own distinct character.
