Batrákia formed in São Paulo in the mid-2000s as an experimental rock collective. The band's lineup included guitarist and composer André Campos, vocalist Fernanda Takai, bassist Lulu Camargo, and drummer Rodrigo Tavares. Their sound combined ambient textures with driving rhythms, anchored by Takai's distinctive vocals.
In 2007, they released their self-titled debut album, which featured the single "Por Nós Dois." That atmospheric track became a hit in Brazil, bringing the band wider recognition. Other songs from their catalog include "A Vida Passa," "Adeus," and "Aquilo Que Passei."
Batrákia went on to release several more albums, including "Eu Sou a Maré" in 2010, "Não Há Mais Tempo" in 2013, "Fragma" in 2016, and "Desconhecido" in 2019. Their unconventional approach sometimes drew criticism, but they maintained their artistic direction.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
