Beyond the Embrace formed in San Antonio, Texas in the early 2000s with Daniel Landrum on vocals, Justin Bolt and Dennis Carreon on guitars, Anthony Ramirez on bass, and Jeremy Bates on drums. Their self-titled debut album came out in 2005, and the single '...Of Every Strain' got some radio play. That record had a melodic, guitar-driven sound that caught people's attention.
After that first album, the band went through some lineup changes and internal issues. They put out a second album called 'Embrace the Chaos, Find the Light' in 2008, which some listeners felt was a departure from what they'd done before. They kept working, though, and released 'Dear Death' in 2011, followed by albums like 'A Darker Shade of Black' and 'The World According to Rage.' Songs like 'Absent' and 'Against the Elements' show the kind of material they were writing.
They've stayed active, putting out 'Anthems for the Broken' in 2019. The music has kept a certain melodic intensity across those records, even as the band's sound shifted some over time.
