Charles David Sharp came up in Nashville, where he grew up listening to Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline. He put out his first album, Heartbreak Weather, in 2012. A couple years later, he released All Too Well, a song that got a lot of attention for its direct, personal lyrics about a relationship ending.
He writes in a confessional style, and his songs often deal with heartbreak and longing. Along For The Ride and Before You Said Goodbye are two other tracks that work in that same emotional space. In 2016, he was involved in a public disagreement with a former partner who felt he had used details of their relationship in his music.
His later albums include The Long Road Home from 2018 and Love Lost and Found, which came out in 2022. He works as a solo artist.
