Desaparecidos formed in Omaha in 2001 with Conor Oberst on vocals and guitar, Denver Dalley on guitar, Landon Hedges on bass, Matt Baum on drums, and Ian McElroy on keyboards. They put out an EP called 'Read Music/Speak Spanish' early on, and their first full album, 'The Left Is Right,' came out the following year.
Their music had a political edge, with songs like 'The Left Is Right' and 'Mall of America' taking on social issues. The band's output was sporadic, they released another album, 'Payola,' in 2015, but kept a fairly low profile otherwise.
Some of their other tracks include 'Fiesta Loca,' 'Ibiza,' 'Follow You,' and 'Golden Parachutes.' They were part of the Saddle Creek scene in Omaha, though the label ran into financial trouble around the time they were starting out.
