Een enk'le dove zelfs vertrekt
Zijn lippen preev'lend op de maat
Dan komt de Meester, goed in 't pak
Praat serieus maar met gemak
En zegt: " Vanavond zal het wezen
Dat wie zich echt aan Jezus geeft
Van alle kwalen die hij heeft
Hier wonderbaarlijk zal genezen "
En bij het noemen van die naam
Klauwt iedereen de handen saam
En wacht het wonder van de Heer
Maar altijd zonder resultaat
Want daarvoor is het veel te laat
Tweeduizend jaar zo ongeveer
