Eugenia León

Eugenia León was born in Mexico City in 1956 and studied music at the National Conservatory. She began performing professionally in the 1970s, playing festivals and smaller venues around that time.

Her 1986 debut album included her version of 'La Llorona,' which became widely known. She followed it with records like 'El Listón de Tu Pelo' in 1990 and 'Entre Tangos y Boleros' in 1994. Her setlists often feature songs like 'La Bruja,' 'De Noche,' and 'Balada Para Un Loco.'

She has worked with musicians including guitarist Ramón Rivera and bassist Jorge Tello in her band Los Alebrijes, and has collaborated with artists like Joan Baez, Pablo Milanés, and Caetano Veloso. León has also been involved with social causes and women's rights advocacy.
