Wave Attack

I've been keeping secrets

Since the sun stopped shining on my skin

I've been feeling heavy

From the weather, the air I'm breathing

Outside in the garden I'd sit with the flowers

Counting their colours to break up the hours

And what we learned from the books

We lost in the riots

So much for all of those beautiful paperbacks

Now everything I own comes ready plastic wrapped

I look at you all but there's no eye contact

Too much space between me and who's staring back

Hopеlessly the motions

That I go through take up all my timе

Expanding and contracting in my mind

And trying to block the light

Before there was fire the future was here

But all I could keep were these strange souvenirs

No matter our intentions

It always ends in tears, in tears

So much for all of us beauty will fade to black

Now everything we own comes ready plastic wrapped

And I look at you all but there's never eye contact

Too much space between me and the looking glass

But when I make my final discovery

Maybe then, maybe then you'll notice me?

But no one, no one feels anything
