FM Laeti

FM Laeti formed in 2013 around singer Hulda Kristín Kristjánsdóttir and multi-instrumentalist Kristján Freyr Sigurðsson. They put out their first EP, 'Ephemeral,' the following year.

Their sound leans on synthesizers and atmospheric arrangements, with Kristjánsdóttir's vocals floating over the electronics. A track like 'Coco,' which features Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, shows how they sometimes weave other voices into their palette. Bassist Rúnar Smári Traustason joined in 2017, rounding out the core lineup.

They've built a catalog that includes songs like 'Out Of My Hands' and 'Rise In The Sun,' maintaining a consistent, mood-driven approach. The music doesn't shout; it settles in.
