His debut album 'Tief in der Nacht' came out in 1979 and included the song '4:20,' which became well-known for its straightforward approach to drug use.
Danzer wrote lyrics that felt personal and observational, often touching on love, loss, and addiction with a mix of humor and seriousness. He worked with other Austrian musicians including Willi Resetarits and Wolfgang Ambros, and they were part of what got called the Austropop movement in the 1970s and 1980s. Over his career he released more than twenty albums, like 'Morgen' in 1981 and 'Von Scheibbs bis Nebraska' the following year.
