I Farm formed in Melbourne in 2004 with Gavin Bain on vocals and guitar, James Hurman on bass, Will Jarratt on drums, and Luke Dubickas on keyboards. They put out their first album, 'Building on One,' in 2006. The title track got some alternative radio play, and songs like 'Chemotherapy' and 'Great Leap Forward' showed their mix of catchy tunes and more thoughtful lyrics.

Dubickas left the band in 2007. They kept going and released a second album, 'Love, Lost, Found,' in 2009. A third album, 'The Way We Are,' came out in 2012. They toured and built a steady following over those years.
