Today I feel a lot better than yesterday

Through another dopesick, sleepless night

All I know is I need you

If I'm ever getting there

And I guess it takes a whole lotta shit

To realize how great life is

And I guess I owe it to myself

To get some living done

I heard about it at an AA meeting

I almost didn't believe you

When you told me that he died

I told him that I'd help him get clean

About 2 weeks before he OD'd

I saw that I got a couple missed calls

From him that night

So now I'm gettin' clean 'cause I can see

How easily it could've been me

Sometimes you beat the odds

Sometimes the odds beat you

And I'm trying to tell God that I'm powerless

But I'm still too much of an atheist

So I guess I'm gonna have

To do this own my own
