Kix Brooks

Kix Brooks, born Leon Eric Brooks III, is best known as half of the country duo Brooks & Dunn, which formed in 1990 with Ronnie Dunn. Their partnership produced a string of albums through the 1990s and 2000s, including 'Brand New Man' and 'Hard Workin' Man.' In 2009, Brooks was diagnosed with prostate cancer, underwent treatment, and later became an advocate for cancer awareness.

After Brooks & Dunn's initial run, Brooks worked on solo material. He released his debut solo album 'New To This Town' in 2016. A couple years later, he put out the single 'All In' featuring Colt Ford, which blends country with hip-hop elements. Other solo tracks include 'Baby, When Your Heart Breaks Down' and 'Bring It On Home To You.'

Beyond his work with Dunn, Brooks has collaborated with artists like Reba McEntire and Daryl Worley. His music often stays within the country genre but occasionally incorporates rock or blues touches, as heard on his solo recordings.
