When Anesthesia Fails

Prepare to go under the knife in the

operation room doctor gives me sedatives so I

will go to sleep sensing myself fall to

unconscious but I am still awake see my

surroundings but can not make a noise I

can see the doctors I can hear the

nurses try to speak to them but no

one hears me watching them prepare for for

the operation putting on their gloves and sharpening

all their tools unheard screams are echoing in

my mind I can not move paralyzed with

sedatives strapped to this bed look into my

eyes see the frighten person begging from inside

tools of your trade watch the gleaming point

headed toward my skin feeling the sting of

the first incision as it breaks through the

skin nerve impulses searing through my brain howls

of pain echo through the core of me

I can feel what you have done to

me every cut dissecting sanity vessels fill with

the new blood pumped into me stitch by

stitch sense each one sewed into me I

am awake can you not hear me scream

trapped inside this coffin made of flesh hear

your voice echoing deep in my mind look

at me see the fear in my eyes

when will this nightmare end gloved hands frolic

through my chest trapped within my own self

I must wake from this dream
