Archive material and source history

Mouth of the South formed in Nashville in 1999, with Aaron Barker on vocals and Jason DeMarco on guitar handling most of the writing. They put out their first album in 2002, followed by records like 'Broken Thread' in 2005 and 'Insomnia' in 2008.

Their song 'Epilogue' came out on that 2008 album. It got some radio play and became a track people remembered them for, alongside others like 'Blind Guides' and 'Running Scared'. The band's lineup changed around over time, but Barker and DeMarco kept writing together.

They released a few more albums after that, including 'One Foot in the Grave' in 2011 and 'Southern Fire' in 2015. Their music got placed in some films and TV shows, which brought in listeners who might not have found them otherwise.
