Nana formed in 2004 with Mizuki on vocals, guitarist Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, bassist Hiromichi Sato, and drummer Yuichiro Nagai. Mizuki had been releasing music as a solo artist since 2000, with her debut single "Omoi" coming out that year. They kept making music afterward, with their sound drawing from those different genres.
