Fire Escape

You spent most of your summer days out on the fire escape,

Searching for your own face in the crowd,

And you know deep down you’ll never find yourself that way,

But you’ve never known another way how.

So when a good thing comes along you keep your sunglasses on,

And by the time you turn to look its just a silhouette.
