Palo Alto formed in Palo Alto, California, with Ethan Thompson on vocals, Diego Garcia on guitar, Cameron Smith on bass, and Nick Rodriguez on drums. They started playing local shows and released their debut EP 'Running Wild' in 2015. The title track from that EP got some attention for its energy and Thompson's vocal delivery.
In 2018 they put out a second album called 'Chasing Shadows,' which included the song 'Always Running Home.' That track became their most recognizable one, along with others like 'Breath In' and 'Fade Out In.' They toured fairly regularly around that time, playing to decent crowds.
