Path to Nihil formed in 2005 with Adam Carroll on vocals and guitar, Eddie Bailey on bass, and Tom Campbell on drums. They released three studio albums: Nihilism in Bloom in 2007, The Cult of Nihil in 2010, and Ashes of the Fallen in 2014.
Their song "Ginger Swan" became something of an anthem for certain listeners. The band's music drew from black metal, deathcore, and progressive rock, creating a sound that was both aggressive and atmospheric.
Carroll's lyrics often dealt with personal struggles, including addiction and mental health, which gave their work a particular intensity.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
