Archive material and source history
Peeping Tom was a project led by Mike Patton that formed around 2000. The group included drummer Dave Lombardo from Slayer, guitarist Trevor Dunn from Mr. Bungle, and keyboardist Otto Wylde from Melvins. Their name came from a 1960s voyeuristic thriller film.
They released their self-titled debut album in 2006, which included tracks like "Caipirinha" and "Don't Even Trip." The following year they put out "Anomalies, Anatomy of an Ox," which had a more subdued feel than their first record.
Patton's vocal approach ranged from whispers to screams over music that mixed industrial, electronic, and jazz elements. Their live shows were known for being confrontational, with Patton often baiting the audience. The lyrics touched on dark themes like violence and mental illness.
