Quesnel Simone formed in Brittany in the early 1980s, with brothers Georges and Jean-Claude Quesnel and singer Simone Le Goff. Their debut album "Les Enfants de Bretagne" came out around that time, mixing traditional Breton sounds with some modern touches.
In 1986, they released "Chanson du Cidre," a song about the region's cider that became popular locally. It had a lively rhythm that caught on, though some traditional music listeners weren't happy with their use of electric guitar and synthesizers.
The band denied copying anything directly. They also recorded other songs like "Dans leurs petits sabots" and "L'épluchette."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
