A now-disbanded South Korean girl group known for catchy melodies and a few controversies.
For a sense of their sound, start with 'Mach' or 'A'. The latter captures that early, quirky energy they were known for.
Rainbow debuted in 2009 with the hit 'A' and built a catalog that includes songs like 'Mach'. Their 2012 controversy over 'Tell Me Tell Me' lyrics showed a group willing to push boundaries, even as it led to a hiatus. They reunited in 2015 for 'Prism' before disbanding in 2019, leaving behind a distinct, if sometimes overlooked, chapter in K-pop.
Formed by DSP Media with seven members, they released music from 2009 to 2018. After the 'Tell Me Tell Me' backlash in 2012, they took a break before returning with 'Prism' in 2015. The group disbanded in 2019.
