Sabertooth Zombie formed in Los Angeles in 1998. Their debut album 'Splatterfest' came out the following year, and they released several more records through the 2000s, including 'Goregasm' in 2002 and 'Bloodbath' in 2009. Their song 'D.O.A.' became one of their better-known tracks.
The band's lyrics and stage shows drew criticism from some quarters, with protests and venue bans mentioned in early coverage. They kept at it regardless, playing a style of heavy metal that leaned into graphic themes.
