In a time of fake breasts

Superficiality

You worry about the way you look

And not the way you think

Feelings made of plastic

And shallow points of view

Frustrated digestion

Of the ignorance you chew

Poets often quoted

But never really read

Artificial laughter

When everyone is sad

Drowning pain with liquor

And hiding up the shame

Beneath make-up and costumes

That are fit to play the game

Slave to emptiness - afraid to be yourself

Slave to emptiness - captive of the void

Slave to emptiness - speaking words of others

Slave to emptiness - get out of my sight

It's a social war you're fighting

And the enemy is your self

Dressed to kill the fear

Of becoming an outcast

Posing and behaving

Like someone you are not

Lacking personality

You glitter while you rot

Spend more time creating

A false identity

Than you do evolving

Individuality

And that's the life you're living

Losing friends along the way

Filling the abyss inside you

With nothing, you're enslaved
