The more I seem to be alone

It’s like the more you say

The more I believe there’s no home

You would look me in the eye

While making up a lie to pretend

That these things were alright

But I know this wasn’t what you intend

But I was only 5 years old

Alone and scared to grow up old

Maybe it’s too early or maybe it’s too late

Maybe she’s not hungry

Are you counting her intake?

Maybe she’s depressed or

Maybe it’s a phase

Maybe it’s just something that we can’t explain
